Hydropack to undertake hydraulic maintenance on Aalsmeerderbrug

Starting 1 November 2024, Hydropack, a division of Doedijns in Zoetermeer, will commence a major hydraulic maintenance project on the Aalsmeerderbrug, an essential moveable bridge spanning the Ringvaart canal in the Haarlemmermeerpolder. Commissioned by Griekspoor, this project focuses on overhauling and replacing critical hydraulic components to maintain the bridge’s safe and efficient operation.

The Aalsmeerderbrug, comprising two adjacent bascule bridges, will undergo extensive updates. Hydropack will overhaul the hydraulic power units and replace all three hydraulic cylinders. These essential renewals allow for a minimized shipping stoppage, reducing downtime to just 17 days. This maintenance is part of the bridge’s scheduled upkeep and is essential to its continued reliability and lifespan.

The project is scheduled for completion on 18 November at 05:00, after which the bridge will be fully operational, and regular passage for shipping traffic will resume.
